Alchemy Autumn 2015 Collection

The latest copy of Alchemy catalogue arrived just as we got back from our trip to the London Edge tradeshow to view their latest collection.  The amazing Pre-Raphaelite, romantic medieval themed artwork on the cover is 'Rosa Noctis'. "The paradigm of virtue, perfection and honour, as mystical and as rare as the eponymous black rose of the night, of which there is only one, and blooming just once, on the rise of the Rose Moon of June."

We had the wonderful opportunity to meet the talented team at Alchemy's HQ at their open day earlier this year and see how themes from their amazing artwork is realised into the beautiful and detailled jewellery that they make. Here is a quick peek all the new jewellery pieces from the autumn / winter 2015 releases by Alchemy Gothic, coming soon to Little Bo's Boutique.

There are lots of new classic pieces for the Alchemy Gothic range, a new Steampunk piece as well as some for the more masculine Metalwear and Urban UL13 ranges.

Some of our favourite pieces from this collection include the Wings of Eternity (P748 and E367), stunning Baroque scrollwork pewter ankh, taking flight centred with a black rose and accented with crystal drops with matching crystal winged earrings.

With a nod to the cover art, Rosa Noctis, the Wounded Love necklace (P740) and earrings  (E365) pick out the elements of the black rose and barbed thorns to make dark romantic pieces.

If you loved the extravagant Bed of Blood Roses and it's little sister the Blood Rose Heart, then the Blood Heart Choker (P746) is perfect of everyday wear. A beautiful combination of pearl effect enamelled red heart, flanked by two black roses on a black ribbon to be hand tied.

We also loved the whimsical Aequicorn (P743).  This is a large stylised seahorse with a unicorn horn set with striking aqua blue coloured crystals.  " From aequor; sea, equus; horse and cornus; horn - the preserved remains of an elusive, mythical and magical creature of the shallow seas, the mystical horned seahorse, identified by Solinus the 3rd century scholar, in his lost Classical bestiary."

Alchemy Open Day

Last week, on the hottest day in years, we were invited to Alchemy Gothic' open day at their HQ and met the very talented team that bring you their amazing products to life from sketch board to production. Thank you Alchemy for putting on a fantastic show! It was a fascinating day and we got a preview of the new Vault pieces being launched this Autumn.

Miracle Jewellery Revival

Little Bo's Boutique are proud to introduce a new collection of vintage style jewellery from Miracle Jewellery.

A Hill & Co started Miracle Jewellery in 1946 in Birmingham. The jewellery produced was known for its Celtic styles, incorporating many Irish and Scottish themes and motifs.
The pieces are made from pewter, and often plated with silver and gold, with crystal and other semi precious stones embedded into the designs.

In 2013, Miracle Jewellery was acquired by St Justin and production was moved to Cornwall and this British made collection is reviving designs with Scottish, Irish and Celtic origins.

The new collection has evolved from historic pieces as well as from the large library of designs accumulated over the years. Antiqued pewter, antiqued gold and chromium plated settings highlight the Bohemian glass faux agates, quartzes and rhinestones which are a key feature of the collection.

Highlights from the Alchemy Gothic collection include P703, Ice Queen.  If you loved the Empyrian Eye Tears From Heaven set, then the Ice Queen has a diamond shaped crystal centre piece surrounded by pewter wings and crystal dropper.  There is matching bangle for the Bacchanal Rose collection, a matching choker (P726) for the stunning blue crystal Dogaressa collection and a new ring (R202) to match the amazing Amon Ra pendant. And finally, with a nod to the Absinthe range, the new La Belle Esprit, P727 pendant, an intricately designed pewter feminine form surrounded by vine and leaf motifs and accented with green crystal and ribbon is the star of this season's collection.

There are two new urban additions to the UL13 and UL17 ranges with a Piston Head (ULP40) pendant for men and a new tattoo gun themed crystal accented pendant, Forever Inked (ULFP22) for the ladies.

For Steampunk fans, new arrivals in the Alchemy Empire range include the Ordium Coelestium Mechanicum pendant (P724), a beautifully crafted articulated piece and some dainty gear earrings, Industrilobe (E353).

Other new releases in the UL17, SS13 range include Swallow Duster, The Ace of Spades and Dead Note and are due to arrive in March 2013.

2013 is the Year of the Snake

From the 10th of February 2013 to the 30th January 2014 is the year of the Water Snake according to the Chinese zodiac and the sixth creature in the 12 year cycle. The snake or serpent is one of the oldest mythological symbols and are know to represent intelligence, transformation and healing.
